Are you watching your GA State Superintendent race?
You should! The impact of refugee resettlement on our schools is extensive. In an already struggling educational system, refugees place a huge strain on not only our education budget, but also the classroom atmospheres our children and teachers must try to muddle through!
Refugee Resettlement costs for the schools come directly out of your property taxes. The Federal RR act gives school officials a way to stop being inundated by refugees. (8 USC 15-21 and 15-22) Local officials can stop this IF they take action. If they don't, Georgia schools will become ridden with a refugee burden like Dekalb County already is (see video below).
BEFORE YOU VOTE, ask the GA State Superintendent Candidates what their position is on refugee resettlement numbers in Georgia and how they will help ensure that our state's kids are not being hindered by overwhelming numbers of refugees in Georgia schools.
